First the issue: SSB mode power is reduced. With the Mic compressor on I can get peaks above 50 watts PEP, but without the compressor output is lower. It has full output on CW mode so I would guess the issue is in the mic amp. This is the only issue I have been able to find but I have only used it a short while this time around (see below) and there may be other issues I am not aware of. That said, I put it on the air this morning before listing it and got good reports on 40 meters SSB. This came from a local estate and I actually sold this radio to the deceased ham some years ago. At that time I was the second owner. After his death I bought all his gear from the widow and this is the last piece I have left. So thats the history. I ran it through all the bands and it hears very well with great receive audio. The SSB transmit power issue is consistent on all bands so if you are handy with circuits or know someone who is this could be a great radio for you at a bargain price. Or maybe you are a CW only op and dont care about the lower SSB output. Radio is stock with no extra filters or add on boards. It is listed as parts not working due to the issue described above. Added a shot of the bottom interior which shows how clean the interior is. Sale is for the radio only, nothing else is included. This is a heavy radio, weight before packing is 25 pounds.
