EAR 834 MM Phono Preamp Clone. Sounds beautiful and has very low noise floor. Build Quality is surprisingly good. This is designed as MM only, but sounded great with a high output MC cartridge. This preamp has been used long enough to know that it functions perfectly. Comes with 3 TAD 12ax7 tubes that are barely burned in. Being sold for parts and repair 22. Some people returning stuff after removing parts. Thank you very much.

EAR Yoshino EAR834 Integrated Valve Amp In working order but presumably needs recapping as there is noticeable mains hum when no music is playing.This has been slowly becoming more apparent in the 7 years Ive owned the amplifier. The volume control crackles occasionally as well when being adjusted but is fine most of the time. The front panel is a replacement I bought from EAR Yoshino as the original was discoloured and pitted.The mains transformer cover was also pitted so I resprayed it to match the centre panel. A chromed replacement to match the power transformer covers is available from EAR Yoshino.Areas of the black paint on the chassis are bubbling and in need of being refinished.The EL34 covers came to me loose and rest in place on their locating studs and some bolt tops; as manufactured they apparently had to be unbolted from below the circuit boards to change valves. The photos clearly show one of the power amplifier boards suffered from a partial track burn out at some point and was repaired with wire covered in a clear sealant. I didnt discover this until taking the base off the amplifier to investigate the crackly volume control about 3 years ago. Some components appear to have been replaced. The ECC85s are Tungsram and the ECC83s are an unmatched pair, they were in place when I bought the amplifier and have not been replaced by me. The EL34s are a mixture of types which have all had about 5 years of regular use. Tim De Paravacini allegedly designed his amplifiers to be very tolerant of unmatched valves; whether this is true or not the amplifier sounds marvelous driving my Quad ESL57s. I had fully intended to have the EAR834 professionally serviced at some point but having just acquired a Luxman SQ-38u here on ebay it is now up for sale. In view of the amplifiers overall condition I am selling it as for parts or not working and starting the auction at 99p. Collection is welcome, in which case you can hear it working. As I still have the very substantial box it arrived in shipping will not be a problem. I will pack the valves in their individual boxes and wrap the valve covers separately inside the main box. The whole package will weigh about 25 kilos and be shipped by ParcelForce24, tracked and signed for, with full insurance.If there is any change out of the quoted £30 p&p cost I will refund the difference to the buyer. This is a UK sale only. I will not ship the amplifier overseas.
