Sound Qualities Many listeners find these tube sound very much like Telefunken E88CCs and thats a true statement. Appearance & cosmetic condition Beside the world-class sound characteristics, we treasure this pair also because the excellent condition of inscriptions on the tubes - over 85% of the paint is perfectly visible. Both tubes had identical date code UL (April, 1971) when acquired, but the letter U on one of them was erased during handling recently. Professional Tube Testing Both tubes tested Strong NOS (110%+ nominal mutual conductance) on a Mercury 2000 tube tester with the following result (mutual conductance in uMhos): Tube 1: 14,100/14,900 Tube 2: 14,200/14,500 Good tubes start at 7000 and new tubes (incl.
