Perfectly balanced vintage Amperex 7308 PQ audio tube w/ D-getter - Made in USA - 1960 - Strong NOS - Early VR0 type - Ultra Rare Soundlumia officially recommends Amperex PQ 6922 & 7308 USA White Print tubes to be used in phono preamps based on extremely positive feedback from our past and repeat customers around the world. Tubes Summary Our best seller is back in stock - the Amperex USA PQ White Label! This listing is for a 100% balanced Amperex 7308 PQ D-getter with the VR0 control code for early type from 1960, one of the greatest years for Amperex USA and one of the very few years in which these d-getter tubes were ever manufactured. And the sound from this gem is as good as it USA White Label tubes can ever get. We have recommended PQs to a great number of wonderful patrons of Soundlumia, who are enjoying these tubes in their class leading amplifiers from Audio Research, Ear, Schiit Audio and Cavalli etc. and raving about their unquestionable superiority in sound. Sound Qualities Among all the PQ tubes, the ones made in Hicksville, New York are the most sought after by serious audiophiles and tube enthusiasts. They are as sweet and smooth as the Amperex Holland PQ tubes, with even better detail and very spacious sound stage. The sound is warm yet lively, mids are forward but also expansive like what you hear on their cousins from the Holland factory, bass is punchy but not heavy. We have recommended the PQs to so many satisfied customers who used them in phono preamp that we have given them a nick name sound purifier - the sound that comes from these tubes has absolutely no edginess, glassiness or harshness, and you hear nothing but the soul of your music and all of it. They are the best tubes to to put in the phono stage as a sound purifier in my opinion. As to vocals, I have no further comment than that the best Mullards were actually sourced from Holland PQs (Made in Gt. Britain w/ Heerlen date codes) and USA PQs beat the Holland ones in vocals period. Listening to Righteous Brothers Unchained Melody through these PQ tubes should be on your bucket list, no matter what type of music you enjoy. Lastly, the cherry on top: the super rare D-getter (only manufactured in the late 1950s and 1960) on these tubes further refines your sound: cleaner instrument separation, smoother top end, taller imaging and MUCH more details! Appearance & cosmetic condition Beside the world-class sound characteristics, we treasure this tube for its pristine condition - nearly 90% of the paint is intact, and the date code etched on glass is perfectly visible: VR0 *0L (VR0 = change code, * = Amperex New York factory, 0 = 1960, I = September) Professional Tube The tube tested Strong NOS (110%+ mutual conductance) on a Mercury 2000 tube tester with the following result (mutual conductance both in uMhos and in percentage of nominal): 14,000/14,000 (112%/112%) Good tubes start at 7000 and new tubes (incl. NOS/NIB) 12,500 - 13,000, and the Mercury 2000s rated mutual conductance (nominal) for new tubes is 12,500. Test result can also be seen in the pictures. In case you wonder what all these numbers mean to your sound experience, its actually quite straightforward: mutual conductance directly translates to a tubes ability to amplify sound so the higher the numbers the better. Return Policy - Please READ carefully First of all, returns are acceptable as long as you are reasonable. Soundlumia sets extremely high quality standard for the products we deliver. Tubes we sell are guaranteed to work because we run professional tests and sound evaluation before they are approved for listing AND before we ship them to customers. So the defective item case doesnt exist and please do not bother trying - this type of returns will NOT be accepted without proof that tubes do not work and we will open a dispute with eBay. Sound experience is a very subjective thing, and lets be real its not that easy to run into compatibility issues between amps and tubes (so that one wont fly, either.) Please contact us to work things out before submitting return requests claiming item is defective or item not as described. We would really appreciate your respect to the professional work we have done (sourcing, testing & matching tubes, evaluating tube sound, sharing our sound experience with you, packing and shipping) to make these wonderful vintage tubes available to you at reasonable prices. Secondly, if you are a tube roller looking to game the return system, Number One STOP. We have seen it all and we know what youre up to. No tricks here please. Abusive behaviors will be reported to eBay immediately and negative feedback will be left to your account - thats guaranteed. We have already reported several abusers and eBay has ruled in our favor the dispute cases. We are more determined than ever to continue working with eBay to help rid of these unprofessional, unjustified, unkind, unfair and unacceptable abuses that are detrimental to the eBay marketplace, the vintage tubes market and the audiophile community.
