Sie überwand die Einschränkung der damals beliebten 50 mm Kalotten, die mit einer zu hohen unteren Grenzfrequenz von mind. 1 kHz zu kämpfen hatten und damit hohe Anforderungen an die Qualität des Basslautsprechers setzten. Auslegung als 76 mm Kalotte mit Ferrofluid-Bedämpfung 8 Ohm Ausführung, wie bei (fast) allen Dynaudios Die D-76 AF war seiner Zeit voraus. Es gibt kaum ein Konuschassis, dass den auch klirrtechnisch kritischen Frequenzbereich von 500 bis 2000 Hz so verzerrungsarm wiedergibt wie eine 75 mm Kalotte. Und genau deshalb hat sie einen so guten Ruf. Die Daten dieses Chassis sind ohne Mühen im Netz zu finden, kann ich aber auch zusendenZustand der Kalotte: sehr gut, wurde nie eingedrückt!
