Has been tested with Technics Turntable, Denon Power Amplifier and KEF Chorale speakers you can see on video.It works and all switches, controls seems to be properly functioning. Dynaco PAS-4 Stereo Tube PreAmplifier W/ Manual Unit was working for short time then later tried to turn on and nothing no power. Cosmetic condition very good and very clean inside. Selling AS-IS for Parts or Repair. On Jun-12-23 at 17:14:12 PDT, seller added the following information: Found fuse and it was blowm.On Jun-15-23 at 07:32:40 PDT, seller added the following information: Preamp fuse blew after about a half hour into testing, power was ok  then fuse blew most likely because i did not re energize tubes slowly with a variac.  The preamp was on shelf in storage for many years.

This is a great looking and fully functional PAS 2 preamplifier. The PAS 2 & PAS 3 are the same units other than the faceplate & knobs. This is not a 3X however. All tubes are strong testing older US 12AX7s. The 12X4 is an original Dynaco labeled tube. This unit is not factory wired but a well built kit version. All inputs tested and sounds great. Controls and switches were recently cleaned for static free operation. Power light indicator works. All knobs are original and have the usual patina to show it! Tubes will be removed and bubble wrapped for safe transit. Preamp will be fully insured when shipped as well.

Vintage Dynaco Dynakit PAS-2 Tube Stereo Preamplifier Untested Not Plugged In. Please note one side screw is missing. See pictures for derails. Found the unit (along with 2 other same vintage same brand all together) in a storage container. I do not have the proper test equipment (variac scope ETC) to properly test. This unit should be cleaned and tested before using no guarantees, no returns, and pictures for details. The unit looks great for its age no rust or weakness in chassis. Looks to have all tubes in place. No attempt at cleaning or refurbishing has been tried. Unit is as found.

Condition: Nice clean unit from a non smoking environment. Cabinet screws are not original & rectifier tube has been upgraded to transistor. Tested: I recently obtained from an estate sale. After correcting these flaws and installing the new components, there is a substantial improvement in overall performance! Please read below; Experience the warmth of tube audio for well under $1000.00! This Dynaco Pas tube preamplifier has just been fully restored and up-graded. The unit comes with a brand NEW silver faceplate and knobs, Dynaco boards and Dynaco/Hafler circuit retained. The unit features a brand NEW fused power supply section along with the original power transformer. This power supply board has greater capacitance than the original. It replaces the 60 year old can capacitor, filament heater capacitors and unreliable selenium rectifier. This results in a quieter and superior sounding unit than the original. The rectifier tube has been retained. New power cord. All NEW audio grade capacitors have been installed throughout, replacing 60 year old leaky out of spec capacitors. The phono input wiring is direct to the board and the eq has been relocated directly to the board as well. The old troublesome noisy wafer style switch has been replaced with a NEW switch and wiring. Rear AC outlets have been removed. Gold RCA jacks and phono ground lug have been added. There is one low level input for phono turntable and six high level inputs for other devices. All slide switches and other controls have been cleaned. Cover has been painted brown. This unit has been thoroughly tested and is waiting to be enjoyed by you! This is one amazing sounding preamp. It has been carefully serviced to ensure longevity and safety. All original Dynaco labeled Telefunken 12AX7 tubes are present, and really painting the sound of this to be just decadent. This preamp is everything that tube audio enthusiasts speak praise of. It’s midrange is extraordinary, and everything emanates with ease and roundness that only a high-quality piece of tube gear, with the right tubes can create. It is a very clean unit, with some minimal cosmetic flaws, including some minor lettering loss as you can see in the photos, as well as a scratch or ding on the face plate. Electronically, and functions 100%, with one minor quirk that has been a well-documented quirk of these PAS preamps. There is a slight imbalance in volume in the midway point of the volume control, but it is easily compensated,for by adjusting the balance control, which was as intended by Dynaco to keep things balanced throughout the listening range. You can connect two turntables to this preamp. The phono input will play as intended, and the “special” input has had the optional setting performed that will make it a phono input as well, so think of it as phono 1 and phono 2 A very involved service was performed as follows: First things first, the main filter cap has been completely rebuilt, re-stuffed with original values of high temperature electrolytics. Secondly, the filament power supply capacitors are were replaced with high temperature, long life electrolytics as well and the selenium rectifier was replaced with reliable diodes. Other standard services provided were testing each tube to ensure that it is strong and balanced, the controls were cleaned and lubricated, but the most important thing was fixing any previous errors in routing and wrapping wires to the re-create, the exact demands of the assembly manual. This is an important step to ensure quiet operation and minimal bleedthrough of sources.
