Sony DVP-FX1 Portable CD/DVD Player. This unit plays videos but there is no audio (just crackling and hiss sound). I dont know what has lead to this fault as I left it unused for about 5 years. When I last used it it was working fine and I used its optical out to copy a CD to minidisc. Now there is only video. The unit was originally designed to play just Region 3 DVDs but it was modified by the Sony store I purchased it from to play multi-region. Ive mostly played Region 2 DVDs in it. The player is over 20 years old so I guess the audio fault is likely due to a component failure. Ive also noticed that the screen brightness does not adjust as much as it use to (although its bright enough). The unit comes with its power adapter, battery (which somehow still holds a charge), remote control, and instruction manual.
