Description
Working and tested Dune HD Smart D1 device. Includes factory remote, original manual, and original power supply. Supports HDMI up to 1080p and can bitstream all formats to receivers including Dolby Atmos. If you are reading this chances you already know the Dune brand name for home media playback. The unit plays back nearly any kind of video file. Please note that while this is a fairly tolerant unit, some video files may be corrupt and unplayable in almost any device or software program. Thus, those problem files have a better chance of playing on this unit but tolerance has its limits! This device, in my opinion, has the industry leading software for playing back DVD and BluRay media that has been transferred to digital. I dont claim it is flawless, but it plays back more reliably than anything I have tested. One can play back movies from the installed 4TB hard drive (2.5inch size with an adaptor). Or using SMB services over your home internet (you may have to enable SMB1 on other devices for this to work). The Dune support website has information on how to connect to other devices including plug and play. This device can also be slaved over USB as a backup drive. Note: This has not been tested with 3.5 inch drives, just used with the included 2.5TB drive. Some models of this unit did not support 3.5 inch drives; this unit has not been tested for 3.5 inch drive support. In the later days of this unit, Dune moved to a subscription model. This unit has the last software version before Dune actually removed most of the key features. Updating the firmware is likely to cause disappointment and is not suggested. As you might guess, I am a supporter of this unit and am selling this one because I dont need two in my network; just one.
