Aus Nachlass zu verkaufen: Dual CR50 Amplituner..Zustand Kratzer

Vintage Dual 1218 turntable with CR50 receiver, speakers and tables - great period hi-fi! This lot is quite to find! All bought brand new together around 1971/72 from the Dual retailer in Norwich. Super stylish and very evocative of its time - to my eyes there’s a 2001 Space Odyssey or Clockwork Orange vibe to it all, in resplendent and totally original and untouched ‘white enamel’ finish. Everything appears to work properly. The auto functions on the turntable seem well adjusted and the stylus is gently dropped and picked up again in exactly the right places for 7’, 10” or 12” records. I’ve fitted a cheap and cheerful old AudioTechnica cartridge I had lying around (but with a brand new stylus) so it’s all ready to go. The receiver (tuner/amplifier) is in fine fettle. The speakers too, all in near immaculate condition. All original paperwork is present (operation and technical manuals for turntable, receiver, speakers etc). The original Dual catalogue and price list are present. I’ve marked with little green arrows exactly what is present here on the old price list. Add all that lot up and put the total through the Bank of England inflation calculator…at today’s prices there’s over £5k’s worth of gear here! The whole lot comes with two original Dual equipment tables containing the Dual ‘DiscoBoxes’ which were intended to contain 12” records. It’s all ready to go and looking ace. I have no information about service history other than I had the receiver checked over last year and all is well. The whole lot sounds great together. These old Dual idler wheel turntables do benefit from a once-over from someone knowledgeable. There’s a slight rumble from the turntable audible through headphones. I understand it is possible to service these things and get them completely silent. Properly set up and with a decent cartridge these 1218 turntables are capable of some fairly serious performance. The turntable cover’s front flap is broken off and there’s evidence of a previous repair attempt. The cover is a complicated contraption and the front section should be hinged and can slide back somewhat to allow access to the record player controls without fully lifting the lid. Looks fixable to me with a bit of imagination or Dual did make a simpler cover without the hinged part and they occasionally come up for sale (there’s one on eBay at the time of writing). Buyer must collect, of course. I’d really like cash on collection but Paypal is okay if you wish. I’d also welcome the buyer to come and check it all over and see/hear it all working properly before taking it away.
