Das Dual CC-8040 war im 1989er Katalog das Spitzenmodell. Das Dual CC-8040 hat EXAKT dasselbe Laufwerk wie das im NAD 6100 bzw. NAD 614 verbaute. Die Leistung kann also gar nicht schlechter sein als bei den gehyped-en NAD Modellen. Aber der Preis ist bei uns über 100,00 günstiger als der z.B. der eines revidierten NAD 614. Das CC-8040 ist im Vergleich zu o.g. NAD Decks geradezu opulent gebaut. Hervorzuheben ist hier vor allem die riesige 2farbige (olivgrün/rot) LCD Anzeige mit großem digitalem Counter. Das befindet sich hinter einer mit Imbusschrauben befestigter Plexiglasscheibe. Ebenso ist der Kassettenfachdeckel gestaltet. Marantz 1820 Mk2 lässt grüßen. Natürlich hat das Gerät eine schwarz eloxierte Aluminium Frontplatte.
