The HITACHI MV-1U Memory Vision, introduced in the early 1970s, is the Worlds 1st TV with picture pause (freeze-frame) capability. No other TV set before Memory Vision had picture-pause. Serial Number 000280 It uses dual TV Screens; 14-inch viewing screen and 9-inch (freeze-frame) screen. It has an internal hard drive that stores the action from the larger screen at 30 fps and reproduces it onto the smaller screen with the wired remote control, or the button on the front of the tv. Because of their exorbitant $1,200.00 price tag in 1972, most Memory Visions were sold to schools, hospitals and businesses for educational and commercial purposes, and then, apparently, tossed in the garbage. This set powers up, receives a signal, but I have not been able to tune in many channels with my connection. I was able to pull in one station pretty good with a simple wired antenna hooked up to the back of the set, as seen in one of the pictures and 2 video links.
