I did have a tape, though, and I was able to verify that these seem to: fast forward, rewind, play, change tape direction. So I can only vouch for the mechanics. The unit powers on but tapes are either warbly or do not play. This is a new issue as until very recently tapes played fine. Physically the unit is in good condition.
