This unit is built like a tank and manufactured for the rigors of professional studio and broadcasting work, as its utilitarian styling expresses. In terms of audio performance, this Denon is a sleeper in the hifi world and often goes under the radar. It is one of the top 5 sounding CD players in the pro market and needs to be heard to be believed. Balanced outputs are available directly from the rear of unit itself. The DAC onboard is an absolute top-notch Burr Brown PCM1716, implemented in a purists circuit with a short signal path and very low jitter. The clarity, dynamic performance and astounding musicality are top characteristics of this model.
