This Denon DP-A100 Direct Drive Turntable appears to have been a dealer return. Its possible someone used the original supplied DL-A100 cartridge for broken stylus customer repair and then returned the boxed turntable. There is no way to really know. NOTE *****This is a completely manual, 2 speed turntable. There is no auto start, auto return, or automatic lift and shutoff at the end of a record. Also, this turntable does not contain a preamp. You must have a preamplifier, integrated amplifier, or receiver with phono inputs***** FeaturesMinor Assembly Required: The turntable chassis is shipped assembled; the only assembly required is placing the platter on the spindle then the mat on the platter, mounting the head shell and counterweight on the tone arm, mounting a cartridge in the head shell, balancing, and installing the dust cover.Platter: The die-cast aluminum turntable platter is 13 diameter. The bottom of the platter is covered with silicone rubber to minimize vibration and suppress feedback. The turntable chassis is also insulated to absorb vibration.Direct Drive Motor: Quartz lock servo controls the platter rotation speed; a sensor detects the frequency of light pulses through an opening inside the motor to govern motor speed. This control system and direct drive ensures accurate speed in addition to almost instant start and stop.Tone Arm: The universal-type s-shaped tone arm is mounted on a large die-cast, adjustable height aluminum base. The adjustable counterweight is graduated in 0.1 gram increments. Range 0 to 4.0 grams. Insulated Feet: The height of each of the insulating feet is adjustable so you can level the turntable chassis. All the turntable components, except cartridge, were present in the box in original wrap and never set up. Includes the anniversary book, white gloves, manual, detachable RCA cables, detachable power cord, and platter mat. Headshell, counterweight, and 45 rpm adapter still secured in the side factory cushion. Aluminum platter is secured in the bottom of the factory cushion in a special cutout. Looks unused to me. Its really difficult to get factory wrap back on and fitting in the box after assembly, and this all fits in the factory box perfectly. I removed it from the box for a power and speed selection check. No problems. Dustcover is still wrapped and should be mint. Chassis was briefly uncovered to show the height adjustable tonearm that is still factory secured. Ships in the original box with factory padding. The box is in great condition for shipping and the inner packing is in perfect condition.
