This drive works! But I cant promise HOW WELL IT WILL WRITE because of the design flaw. It would get almost to the end of the disc then fail sometimes, but sometimes it finishes ok. I remember the fix was to lubricate one of the small plastic parts inside the drive, then it worked most of the time. I didnt have a permanent fix for it though. Youll need to research how to fix it properly if you want it to work without the risk of writing coasters. Otherwise this is a vintage collectible in its own right. It is what it is. Its possible to completely remove the drive from the housing, then replacing the drive with one that works more reliably.
