This Luxman K-106 is a auto-reverse stereo cassette deck with Dolby B/C and HX-Pro and DBX noise reduction, it was first sold by Luxman in 1987 with a list price of USD $580 and discontinued a year later. The main features of the Luxman K-106 are: 2 heads, digital tape counter with 4 digits, automatic tape type selection and capable of handling normal, chrome and metal tapes with automatic equalization selection, belt driven dual-capstan transport. Typical front loading cassette deck with the cassette compartiment located on the left side of the deck. The pots and switches were sprayed and the metal parts were lubed as well. Both channels are clear and superb sounding as well. A new drive belt was installed as well. The caps were checked and they’re good. The bottom feet are included as well, although not pictured. The main features of the Akai GX-R60 are: 2 heads, digital linear tape counter with 4 digits, automatic tape type selection and capable of handling normal, chrome and metal tapes, belt driven auto reverse transport. It is in good condition albeit with scuffs, marks and nicks as shown. Wooden cabinet is in fair condition with a chunk of wood missing as shown but it will most likely be included anyways for that extra layer of protection . Refer to pics. It has been tested, serviced, calibrated and the heads were cleaned and demagnetized for the best sound ever. The mic inputs were tested and they work as well as the other inputs. The pots and switches were sprayed and the metal parts were lubed as well. Both channels are clear and superb sounding as well. A new drive belt was installed as well. The caps were checked and they’re good. The bottom feet are included as well, although not pictured. The sound when recording at 3 3/4 IPS is very clear and better and wider sounding than the Source recording from, depending on the type of tape used and better at 7 1/2 IPS . The heads are also in very good shape which is obviously why the quality is awesome as well. Vintage Rare Technics RS-B78R dbx 3 Motor Head Auto Reverse Cassette Deck with original box and foam packing. This was tested with a Yamaha A-500 amplifier. I played the tape and tested the direction button, forward, reverse, pause and input sliders. I did not test any other features on the unit. From one owner estate and he loved his electronics.
