This is a great sounding preamp with a great phono stage for listening to vinyl, a pleasure to use. It also has Dolby surround processor . I really like this preamp and recently had a tech go through and clean all of the controls and switches so it is quiet and smooth. The only flaw is I accidently used a cleaning solvent instead of a mild cleaner trying to get a stain off the face plate - and instead the lettering in the center started to come off....thats when I realized I used the wrong bottle! Here is a comment that I got online about this amp when I searched specs DBX CX-3 Multi-function control amplifier with built-in surround processor.With a built-in surround function, you can choose from three positions : Dolby surround, Matrix surround, or Simulated Stereo which adds breadth and depth to mono source.Also, the Dolby input can be calibrated with the rear panel knob.The surround function can be bypassed.It has an external surround processor input and can be connected to an external surround processor.Equipped with 3-band split tone control.Audio and video signals are completely isolated to eliminate mutual interference.Each of the phono equalizer, tone controller and surround processor is equipped with a power regulator to eliminate interference between circuits.Each video circuit is equipped with a buffer amplifier to reduce video buzz and pop noise. The biggest difference between the Cx-3 and the Cx-3mkii is the mkii is remote capable. It’s comes with a Sony universal/programmable remote. You will have to search the web and find the frequency and set up instructions. This remote is top shelf and will preform very well with this control amp. There are no negatives to say. Speaker connectors partially damaged. Preamplifier untested. Not the best optical condition, woodsides damaged. NO shipment outside EU. Explicitely sold as defect!
