This is a Dahlquist DQ-MX1 Passive Matrixing Crossover. From a local storage unit. Not working. Read details below before bidding. Cosmetics-Surface wear and scratches from being moved around. Front plate has edge wear, indents, and the right bottom corner is bent in some. Deeper scratch on the top rear area. See photos. Bottom is missing a foot with wear. Fair overall otherwise. Operationally I was able to get clear audio from the main speaker outputs. But I was not able to get sound to come out of the center bass speaker output. If I put it into the phase setting I could get some faint sound if I had the level really high. I took a peek inside and the electronics look clean overall. Good for someone who likes a project. See lots of photos of what you are getting. Sold AS IS. Includes the crossover seen above. Nothing else is included. Will be well packed for safe shipping. These speakers were made roughly 1995 and I have been the primary owner for over 25 years. Over that time the tweeters were replaced as the ferrofluid had dried up and the current tweeters have a LOT of life left on them. This is a modular design with the W2 bass module consisting of twin 6” woofers. These are connected to the W2 “top” via Darwin Cable Co silver wire jumpers ($500) which I am INCLUDING with purchase. The tops are arranged in a D’Appolito array with the tweeter between two drivers. The tops (and bottoms) have a chamber that can be filled with sand or shot to dampen cabinet resonance. These are currently loaded with sand. The bottom (W2) module has threaded spike feet. The speakers can be bi-wired or bi-amped (which is how I had them). The Center channel CA-C1 can be run “full range” or bi-wired/amped as well. Dahlquist recommended bi-amping and I found over the years of owning them, this did produce the best result. However, I used jumpers for the center channel (not included - only including jumpers for the main L/R speakers). These speakers are extremely heavy, even without being sand filled. I estimate the bottom cabinets to be around 40lbs and the same with the sand filled tops. Please note that there are some dents and scratches but nothing that affects cabinet integrity or sound. Also, most all the more “visible dents” are hidden by the cloth grille covers. Also, one of the binding post plates is a little loose but this does NOT affect connection or sound as is probably an easy fix! It just wasn’t enough of an annoyance for me to mess with. I’ve had these speakers run through software & mic testing and everything is in perfect working order (crossovers, tweeters, bass, etc.) Due to the weight and number of cabinets (5 total with center channel) this will be for LOCAL pick-up ONLY! I can also deliver these for an additional fee if not too far away from DFW area. Please ask me any/all questions and I can provide additional photos of the speakers upon request. I am also selling the AudioQuest/Audio Truth Argent speaker cables (3M) that were factory bi-wired for these speakers in a separate listing!!!
