The black SMSL AO300 is an awesome all-in-one amp, and by ALL, it means the best Class D amp chip (Infineon MA5332MS) coupled with the breakout DAC/AMP CS43131 by Cirrus Logic with 4 digital and 1 analog input, a sub out (I believe crossed over at 100Hz based on unreliable sources), AND a high quality 1.3W headphone amp. The Cirrus Logic 43131 chip bests the ESS and rivals the AKM with its clarity and slam. I purchased this for my living room setup, but it was actually only used a few hours in the past year, so it is practically new. I have done the firmware upgrade to remove the clicking noise when changing sources. The unit has 4 digital inputs (USB-C, Coax, Optical, HDMI) and a single RCA input. The speaker binding posts are very nice and can be used with banana, spade, or bare wire with ease. The remote control is the standard ChiFi model but very serviceable, and is easy to go through the menu with. The menu is basic, but has lots of the fun SMSL sound options as well as is easy to read from the couch 12 feet away. I have used the headphone amp with my HifiMan Edition XS, Drop 6XX, and Meze 99 Classics without any issue and has ZERO noise floor. It rivals my Geshelli J2/E2 stack for clarity and punch. The output is rated at 85W at 8 ohms, and I believe it! I was able to drive some large classic Pioneers from the early 1990s without issue.
