Croft Series 6 Rare Croft power amp based on transformer coupled PL519. It operates in push-pull and the amp runs in triode, putting out about 50W into 8 Ohms. As you can see from the photos the amp has two sets of output taps. And it’s a typically utilitarian Croft unit. There are a few minor marks on the case a few screws are missing from the cover. But it is sound and functional. The previous owner told me this had been upgraded by Glenn and recently serviced. But I’ve no documents to support this, so you’ll have to take my word on that - or not! This amp sounds incredibly good. Very sweet and musical but also great dynamics. I bought it to use as a stop gap and have been very pleasantly surprised by the performance it offers for the money. I’ve had way more expensive amps than this which have offered a lot less. It’s very quiet. The previous owner was a valve dealer and put very good valves in the amp. They are all excellent vintage items, including Mullard PL 519, Mullard ECC81 and Brimar ECC81. It will take 12BH7 drivers if preferred. Note - I have the schematic for the amp, which will be provided to the buyer.

In storage for 20 years …. original cartons are shabby but foam inserts are perfect. Refurbished by Glen Croft himself just before his untimely death. Immaculate anodized aluminium front panels and undamaged cases, although slight blistering in powder coating on rear panels.Audiophile minimalist valve equipment from a great British designer. The pre-amp has gold plated line-out and phono RCA sockets. The amplifier is 50 watts output transformer-less and will drive speakers of 6-15 ohms.The two units work perfectly as a pair and sound wonderful!Packaged weight 20kgs.
