Offered for your consideration is one (1) vintage Coral # 5A-12A 5¼ inch woofer made in Japan c.1970. Please have a look at my large photos and read the remaining description to decide if this superb mid/bass driver is correct for your needs. This Coral woofer is in clean, excellent condition. The sturdy paper cone is flawless and so is the voice coil dustcaps. Plus, the surround is permanent textile instead of the fragile foam that was starting to come into widespread use when it was made. Also, the anodized steel basket is in great shape with no dings or oxidation. And, the +/- terminals are marked for polarity and I’ve de-soldered the terminals for the next owner’s convenience. Overall, this vintage Japanese driver is exceptionally well-preserved! What’s more, this speaker has been fully tested and sound terrific—fast, detailed midrange and good low-end for the platform size. Plus, I tested its DC resistance at 7.8?, consistent with a nominal 8 ohm driver rating. Lastly, the basket measures 5¼” across (5 15/16” on the diagonal), it stands 1?” tall, and the mount holes are spaced 3?” adjacent / 5½” diagonal apart, c-t-c.
