Gemini 4:4:4 ist ein kompakter, mobiler Recorder, der die Aufzeichnung unkomprimierter HD-Videosignale mit 4:4:4-Sampling in 10 Bit erlaubt. Unterstützt werden in der Standardversion HD-Raster bis 1080p60. Die Aufzeichnung erfolgt auf zwei speziellen SSD-Laufwerken mit 1,8 Zoll, die ebenfalls von Convergent Design geliefert werden. Als Codec für die unkomprimierten HD-Bilder wird DPX genutzt. Der Gemini besitzt 2 HD-SDI-Eingänge und kann in der Grundkonfiguration Single Link-, Dual Link oder 3G-SDI-Signale verarbeiten. Ausgangsseitig verfügt der Gemini über 2 HD-SDI– sowie einen HDMI-Out. Der Recorder besitzt ein integriertes 5 Zoll-Display mit 800 x 480 Bildpunkten. Convergent Design bietet kostenpflichtige Upgrade-Optionen an, durch welche der Gemini auch RAW-Daten (Arriraw, Canon 4K Cinema Raw) oder Stereo-3D-Signale aufzeichnen kann. Durch die Arriraw-Option kann der Gemini dann beispielsweise in Kombination mit der Arri Alexa benutzt werden und RAW-Files mit einer Auflösung von 2880 x 1620 Bildpunkten bei bis zu 60 fps aufnehmen. Convergent Design kündigt zudem ein kostenloses Firmware-Upgrade an, durch welches der Gemini in Zukunft auch die komprimierte Aufzeichnung in DNxHD beherrschen soll.
