Up for auction is this beautiful Clearaudio Champion turntable in excellent condition. Cosmetically, the unit doesnt have any damage to the acrylic plinth or cracks. Only minor scratches to the plinth, platter, and motor case are present. It truly looks beautiful, and has the look of a deep black grand piano. The platter is also beautiful, with an even frosted glass texture. Tonearm also has no damage, and the entire table has been handled well and taken great care of its life. The original owner bought this turntable from Clearaudio as a DIY kit, and he also purchased upgrades from Clearaudio for this unit at the time of sale. This unit has a Direct Wire Satisfy tonearm (better than stock), heavier isolation feet than stock, and a special record clamp included, all genuine Clearaudio parts/upgrades. Clearaudio at that time sold a ton of upgrades and customization options... way more than today. This table has a really clear balanced sound and stable speed. I put an Ortofon 2MBlue on it earlier this year, and the needle should still have plenty of life in it. With that said, the new owner needs to be very experienced with turntables to use this unit. Balancing the tonearm, verifying the speed/motor position, and the cartridge position is all done manually by the listener, and it works best if you own tools to calibrate these. No auto-return or auto-start, this is a full manual enthusiast grade unit. I am selling this table because most of my record collection is European prog house/trance choons, and Id rather spin my records on the Technics SL1200GR.
