This Classe Sigma SSP (original retail was $5000) is incredibly suitable for use in a high-end STEREO system, 2-channel with the capability to do home theater. This is an incredible pre-amp and would not be wasted in a STEREO only setup. This is close to 90% of the new Classe Delta Pre that is $10k right now, same basic software, same basic hardware - BUT this one can do surround if you want. When this was new, it was very close to the Delta surround unit at the time, actually the Sigma had a better S/N ratio than the Delta product. One owner and well cared for and is in nearly new condition. I have cleaned the unit, upgraded the firmware to the newest version. I also reset the unit to factory defaults. Spent several days learning it inside and out and can provide installation help if you need it. The newest firmware has all the improvements of the 4k unit, except the 4k video board. Inputs include 7 HDMI, 3 Coax digital, 2 optical digital, 1 computer USB input, 1 Balanced input, 2 RCA analog inputs. Outputs include Front L/R Balanced, 5.1 RCA outputs with 2 RCA outputs that are configurable for rear surround, Dolby Height and several others (see manual). The HDMI inputs support ARC (audio return channel) from your smart TV sound. There is an ethernet jack for connection to the network, but no wireless. You can use an ethernet cable, an access point, or a network bridge. If you need help figuring that out, let me know. Once on the network, you can use Apple Airplay, or DLNA to access files on your network connected computer or NAS. This is one incredible sounding preamplifier and it betters my Parasound P6 preamp... it should as it was much more expensive. If you only want 2-channel stereo, this is a great buy in a preamp. The DAC is excellent, and it also has a complete analog bypass. It even has a mode that passes the signal through so your source controls the volume, bypassing even the preamp section. You can configure the video pass-through to work with multiple inputs, so you can listen to music while watching a video source. The bass management is first-rate and the parametric equalizer nine fully adjustable bands with frequency, gain, and Q (width). For home theater, it is great up to 7.1 and does all the surround formats except Atmos. It will do 5.1 and height channels, it will do some other configurations as well. I am a BIG believer in 5.1 with QUALITY speaker set... more is not better and if you are into this level of equipment, you probably agree with me. This is a one owner, pristine preamp, it is smaller than most pre-pros which makes it ideal to be used as a stereo preamp. Please contact me with any questions. It does not have HDMI, but it has a stereo balanced input and balanced 7.1 outputs. Without using the DSP, it will only support up to 5.1 output via DTS or Dolby Digital, and up to 7.1 if using the 7.1 single ended analog inputs. It has 2 spdif inputs and 4 coaxial. It is excellent as a 2 channel preamp. It comes with the manual, remote, power cord, and original box + foam. Its in excellent condition apart from some small blemishes, all of which I put in the pictures. There is a smudge on the left side of the cover that doesnt seem to wipe off along with a couple of light scratches on the top of the cover. There are two very small marks on the front near the IR sensor (just below and to the left and right of it). There is also a small mark on the volume knob. I zoomed in on these in the pictures, as theyre hard to see otherwise. The remote has some staining or scratches on the underside; Im not sure what it is, otherwise its in great shape as well. Theres no corrosion on the battery terminals. It was fully serviced. Apart from some bipolar capacitors that measured as good as new, ALL electrolytic capacitors were replaced including the smd types. There were somewhere between 300-340 in total. The switch mode power supply was replaced entirely and various other small components were replaced as needed. I found and installed a new display as well. I was never into home theater and dont have a way to properly test this unit, but it powers up according to the proper warm up sequence, and the touch screen responds in the different modes, so at least were part way there! The 3 brightness modes work as does the screen color option. Beyond that, as far as audio performance goes, I have no clue! It may work great, or you may lose your $1,800 life savings trying to get it fixed! No remote control or manual, but a FREE manual is easily found online. Got a few extra days to learn how this thing operates and hook it up? Go read it! Cosmetically, its missing the front push-on(?), do nothing cover panel. How and why its missing, I dont know! Or even how and why it was designed this way in the first place! Theres some light wear/scratches here and there on the cabinet, front, and rear panels. About 4 cabinet screws somehow vanished. Thanks to ebay/PayPals current draconian policies regarding returns, we will no longer sell most items as working, but rather officially as parts, not working. Also, thanks to the same policies, we will no longer ship directly to any country other than the US. Any overseas buyers must buy thru the ebay shipping program. Everything is sold AS-IS; NO WARRANTIES offered on anything.
