No original remote but the sales will include a Logitech Harmony Remote programmed to replicate the full function of the original remote. THE BAD: Unfortunately the unit overheats after playing for a while. First, the display will goes wonky (see video), with all the switches still functional. After a few hours, the keys (remote and physical buttons) no longer works but the music will continue to play. You just cannot change any parameters. It will then require turning off of the unit with the physical On/Off button in the back. After it cools down, it will work again with the symptoms described above showing up eventually. I was going to have it repaired (there are 2 Classe-authorized repair shops in the US, and 1 in Canada) but I bought an old Aragon 24K preamp to go with my Aragon 8008 amp in the meantime. So I figure the Classe should just be sold for parts or as-is. Looking at the interior, the unit looks clean. No obvious damage or anything. Service manual is available online (I can provide). It may be an easy fix for someone who knows how to diagnose circuitry. Or it may not. Please decide for yourself. Again, sold as is or for parts only. No refund. Carefully used at home as the secondary system. Fully functional and guaranteed to work without any problems. It sounds so good and honestly this pre amp is one of the best that money can buy. The Kamaudio power cable I included cost over $300 originally. You can see in the pics. The remote is original and very hard to find. It is fully metal box remote. Sorry, the writings on the remote are gone. I will box it securely. Check the pics thoroughly please. Used in perfect operational order Classe Audio CP-40 solid state stereo preamp w/ Phono / Remote and Manual, 19 faceplate. Minimalistic design, with all essential functions to support high fidelity reproduction. Sound is not fatiguing, warm and detailed. MM/MC phono is also excellent if needed. Remote is not original but works fine. You can program your own too. Unit performs best when connected thru XLR outputs to the amplifier. I am downsizing, its time to let somebody else to enjoy its magic.

Classe Audio CP-40 stereo, solid state preamp W/ Phono / Remote and Manual, 19 faceplate. Used, in a very good condition and in perfect operational order. Minimalistic design, sound is not fatiguing, warm and detailed. Equipped with above average MM/MC phono. Remote is not original but works fine. Over last few years, unit was connected to my DAC and Turntable to feed Parasound A21 (use XLR outputs if you can, it performs way better) . I am not happy to part with it but its time to downsize and let somebody else enjoy its magic.

I am selling my Classe DR6 MkII preamp (with dedicated power supply unit and connecting umbilical cable) that I have owned since 1993 - so 29 years in total, during which time it has been only occasionally used, very carefully handled and always stored in cabinets away from enquiring hands and any prospect of damage. I would describe the overall condition as 9/10 (though I know that is a subjective scale). I simply doubt there will be another DR6 in this condition anywhere. The Classe DR6 preamp is much revered and is still today sought-after as a classic pre-amp of its period, designed and engineered by Dave Reich who founded Classe Audio Inc in Canada and donated his initials to the companys amplifier naming strategy. The Mk II DR6 was introduced in 1990 and is distinguished from the original DR6 units by having black (not gold) handles, Play/Mute and Bypass On/Off switches on the front panel and the absence of rack mounting cut-outs.The DR6 is particularly renowned for its sonic abilities, its tank-like build quality and its longevity. It accepts five inputs (including a wonderful phono section that can be switched between an MM input or an MC input that can be fine-tuned with the supplied resistor kit) and drives through single-ended (line/phono) and balanced (XLR) output sockets. It still sounds fantastic and special, some 30 years after its launch. My DR6 comes with its dedicated power supply unit (PSU) and connecting umbilical cable, a mains-power chord, the original DR6 Owners Manual, an unused pack of preformed resistors (complete with silver solder and allen key!) to fine-tune the MC phono stage, and all of the original packaging including double layered box and moulded foam inserts.Due to the weight of the unit, I would prefer collection from Warwickshire (or I can help with delivery, within reason) but shipping may be possible if requested and agreed separately with the buyer. Very, very clean. Age typical scratches on edges of faceplate with a couple of nicks(mostly along the top side, see pictures) and some scratches on the top of the case. Unit was fully tested on all inputs except for the balanced input and Moving Coil phono input and sounded great. No distortion, humming, or static when adjusting knobs. Very clean and crystal clear sound. Phono section sounded great(Moving Magnet tested only). Inside the unit showed no evidence of repairs or modifications and was extremely clean. Comes with original owners manual as well. PLEASE NOTE: There is NO Power Cord Included.
