This is the Classs Legendary CAP -150 integrated amplifier. To me it is like a simplified version of Classe preamp CP-30 and Classe Ten amp putting together. I used to own Classe Ten and I feel that this CAP-150 does have Tens characteristics. However, with CAP-150, overall sound quality beat many of my hometheater possessors (including Anthem D2) plus the Class Ten. With the CAP-150, I realized that the pre-amps, especially 2-ch preamps are necessary components for good sounds. While looking for a good pre-amp, I found Classes own SSP800. The performance of SSP800 (as a preamp) does exceed the CAP-150 somewhat (not totally). Therefore, I am selling this CAP-150 to fund a good pre-amp. This CAP-150 sounds very similar to CAP-151. They both use 560W power supply. Same power output for sure. I still have CAP-151 so I can say that for sure. The difference between CAP150 and CAP151 is that, CAP-151 adopts newer sound characteristics, such as faster attacks, crispier sounds, with maybe a little more resolution (could be by the sound character, not resolution). But CAP-150 sounds bolder with more bass-heavy feels (I see more larger capacitors in CAP-150). The reason I am selling this CAP-150 is that I need more remote control functions on CAP-151. My asking price for this CAP-150 is a steal comparing to other CAP-151s sold or listed on eBay. You may check on-line for the comparisons between CAP-150 and CAP-151 and realized that their values should be very close. By the way, I was using both CAP-151 and CAP-150 to bi-amp my Celestion speakers. Guess which one I used the pre-amp sectoin? I used this CAP-150 as the pre-amp and treble amp! I used CAP-151 as the Mid/Bass amp. I am still using the CAP-151 only on its amp section now. This CAP-150 can only be remote-controlled with volume up/down and mute/unmute. Thats it. 3 functions. The old control unit was broken and it was sold cheap. I am now using Amazons fire TV remote for the functions and I bet you like the light Amazon remote control better. No remote control is included in the auction, though. The NordicTrack Elliptical is not included. :) This unit still works flawlessly and sounds wonderfully. Some light marks on the case but overall it is in good condition. I dont want to give up my good power cable. I will include a generic power cable for your quick start purpose. This is a high level audio component that CAN tell the difference from different power cords! This is a 35lb unit. I will pack it well when ship it.
