This is a TESTED WORKING vintage 2-way video tape cleaner, Cleanermate brand model VC-8088. It is identical to the Geneva PF-740. The clasp on the door appears to have broken, so it doesn’t stay latched shut when it standing position, but this does not affect the operation of the machine. It offers cleaning in forward and reverse. It comes with a set of cleaner pads installed in it, in used condition. It also comes with two sets of replacements NOTE that they also show some wear from use, the packaging they’re in is opened. The replacement pads are even harder to find than the machines. These pads could probably be cleaned to extend their life further. Includes the original box and instructions. Note that the power brick that comes with it is rated for 7.5V. It has some cellophane tape on it. I was able to test it and clean a video tape, but it may be advisable to find a replacement 12V. But it worked fine when I tested it. Geneva VHS Video Tape Cleaner PF740-1V PF-740 Two Way Cleaning System RARE In Box Barely Used These are very hard to come by, but and absolute gem to have. The go-to unit for restoring/cleaning VHS tapes. A wonderful addition to any collection! This device is still in the box, purchased from the original owner who bought it brand new in the 90s to rewind tapes on the road. They said it was only used a very few times. The batteries had some very minor venting from being left in the unit but does not effect function. Unit was tested and functions perfectly with the included power cord. I was so disappointed when I bought this and found that the CD feature doesn’t work. The Radio and Aux in work and on those it sounds freaking amazing!!! All the front functions seem to all work, just no CD. Also does not include the remote. I hate for this to go into the landfill so hoping someone might want to try and repair the CD.
