Description
You are bidding on around 40 blueprints and other paper documents for the Cello Performance Amplifier, their monster power amplifier that debued in 1985 along with their Audio Suite configurable preamplifier and the Audio Palette Program Equalizer. These units remained in production until around 2000 when the company went out of business. I came across these around 2010, when a friend found the remains of the Cello stock in a Bridgeport CT warehouse. The remains included many individual parts; boards and sub-assemblies, but no finished units - along with many file cabinets of test reports and miscellaneous information and drawings of their various products - in complete disorder. I spent many hours combing thru the information to get as much info on their products as possible. This auction concerns itself SOLELY with the Performance amplifier. Cellos documentation was only concerned with how to build a product. As such there were Bills of Materials for all the units parts; drawings for all the sheet metal parts. For any individual printed Circuit (PC) boards there were schematics, board layouts and parts placements. There were certain assembly drawings - mainly for the physical placement and mounting of the parts in the chasses. Wiring between boards was handled by to/from wiring lists. Any final assembly and/or checkout sheets were mainly hand-written. I am not aware that any OVERALL circuit diagrams or that a maintenance manual was ever produced - for any of their products. Each Performance Amplifier was monaural and was contained in two chasses; the amplifier itself and its accompanying power supply. The amplifier had three main boards inside; the PAM-1 input/driver board; two PAM-2 Output boards (each mounted on a heat sink tunnel) and a DCO-1 Protection Board. The Power Supply had a PSR-4 Surge Protection and Trip Loop Board. Documentation included in this auction includes around 50 items. One is a new, color fly sheet for the amplifier with pertinent details and picture. PAM-1 documentation includes a 18 or so blueprints/schematics and parts placement outlines - some with revisions up through 1996. PAM-2 documentation includes around 8 blueprints/schematics; parts placement . DCO-1 includes 4 documents; a schematic blueprint; a 2-page parts layout and an interconnection sketch of its wiring onto the back panel of the amplifier. PSR-4 documentation includes two versions of the schematic; 2 copies of the parts layout and an interconnection sketch showing the other parts in the power supply. There are two 4 wire kit sheets listing the wires (shielded and otherwise) needed for the amp. There is also a hand-written PAM-1 pre-check sheet and 3 page hand written amplifier inspection procedure along with torque specs for the heat sink hardware. There is also a small blueprint showing how the power transformer is to bw connected for different voltages - 100/120/200/220 to 240VAC. Disclaimer - These are all the construction drawings that I was able to find. I DO NOT represent them as being a COMPLETE SET. I have never owned or seen a Performance amp and can not vouch for the accuracy of this documentation with respect to any specific unit produced during the companys lifetime. I do have separate, factory-issued upgrade information (and some parts) which will be listed in a separate auction
