Vintage Celestion / Adastra Hi Ten 10 full range speaker This speaker was removed from a Fradon PA speaker, the date stamp looks like it was manufactured in the 1950s. The driver has the name Celestion punched into the terminal board. This is a Celestion 10 driver that came from a radiogramme and the design of which appears in late 1950s Celestion brochures, however the code stamps on the chassis do not directly identify the model. Looking at the chassis design and brochures of the time suggest it might be a low flux model 75 or high flux model 111, but the chassis markings appear to say Model Z1 OL2 while what may be a date code of 06GH suggesting 6th July 1951 production. The early motto on the sticker of The very soul of music supports this late 40s-early 50s dating. It is in very good vintage condition-the driver works with a signal direct to the voice coil, bypassing the output transformer. The cone and surround is intact with no tears or damage. A 2.6 ohm reading on the voice coil suggests a nominal impedance of 3 ohms which is in line with expected specification. I also have a British Rola field coil speaker that I will be listing soon.

Celestion UL10 Speakers Tested Rare Broadcast Standard Speakers. Will be well packaged and sent via Parcelforce 24hr tracked service upon dispatch. In working order all woofers mids and tweeters are all working and they sound very good. They are large heavy Speakers and will need space so you will need the room to get best out of them, although some would say floor standing speaker they benefit from been off the floor on low stands. Cosmetic condition of the cases are not great please see images, they look OK in most parts however will need a bit of TLC the grilles need some new pegs ( common) I might have some available and grilles need new cloth. The difference in the appearance with the twitters is 1 has the mesh tweeter guard and the other is missing very common for both to be missing. The facia panel is good condition the grill cover frames are in good condition with badges. The speakers are working and worth more if I parted the speakers out but it would be nice to keep these top of the range Celestions going for many years to come.
