Celestion Ditton 66 MK2 1977 Vintage speakers in a near mint condition. This is MK2 version with veneered front baffle. I bought these speakers in Exeter from a relative of an elderly couple who passed away few years ago. The front grills were probably not taken off since the 70. Ive checked the internals and it seems that the speakers were untouched and all components and cabinets have stapms and date codes from the same batch - for example woofers (T1600) FK 28, tweeters (HF2000) FK 29 (F - June, K - 1977). There is also MH 23 JUN 1977 stamped inside the cabinet. Ive left the crossover unaltered. The cabinets have been cleaned and lightly sanded, then refinished with Danish Oil. Ive sealed the enclouseres inside with wood glue and internal damping foams were washed. All the metal driver surrounds have been painted. The tweeters carboards and small metal grills were painted and re-glued to the face of tweeters.Magnetic strips added in place of long gone foam on the front baffle. Original grill cloths have been refreshed (washed) and re-glued. Collection (from Chalfont St Peter) only due to weight and rarity.
