Welcome To CRAIG CHASE VINYL & MORE Don (ccvinylman) Larter, Owner UP FOR BIDS! A futuristic-looking pair of loudspeakers from Celestion in the UK, though the speakers were assembled in China. They are 2-way speakers, having 4-inch woofers and .8 horn tweeters. The enclosure type is sealed. They are footed, and they pivot left and right. They accept amplifier power between 10 and 100 watts into 8 ohm impedance, and they accept bare wires or possibly banana plugs. The speakers could function in a surround sound setup, but they could also function as front, main speakers, left and right. They can also be wall- or ceiling mounted, having connections on the foot of the speakers. In a large room, their performance would be complemented and enhanced with a subwoofer, though they sound great in their own right. Condition is excellent. Dimensions: 8.5 high x 4.625 wide x 6 deep. Vintage Celestion CX1512 12 Full Range Dual Concentric 1960s British Speaker. Very rare these days which makes it very difficult to value. Tested and in working order. The Cone code seems to be 868 006 or possibly 868 806 There are some small(ish) marks as can be seen in pics between the 12 “o”clock and 2 “o”clock positions near the outer cone edge. It looks like something has bumped the cone from the other side. Speaker date code stamp looks like 10JA which doesn’t make sense as that would date it to Oct 1956 and I don’t think the speakers were introduced until 1962. Celestion CX 1512 Hi-Fi speaker Studio Series 1960s Thames Ditton. Rare collectors item. Made in England by Celestion Ltd, Thames Ditton, Surrey - before the factory moved to Ipswich. This speaker is in good used condition - please see pictures - Believed to have been made in the early 1960s. From what I can gather on the web these are Ultra rare Coaxial Celestion units with inbuilt Celestion tweeter (predecessor to HF1300?) mounted centrally and crossed over at 4khz. The 12” unit has a treated paper surround. It is very efficient so great for valve amps. Overall Frequency Response 20-15000 C/S Power Handling 15 Watts UK. 30watts USA Fundemental Resonance 35 C/S Cross Over Frequency 4KC/S Impedance 15/16 Ohms.
