Carver TFM-55 Power Amplifier in excellent condition! Absolute fantastic sounding power amplifier! Was just sent in the USA to Carver Service and parts replaced for ca. 540 US$ (see pics) The sound is extremely good, almost tube like; soft, detailed and powerful all at the same time. This amp had some problems after 30 years but I thought it would be a shame to just let it go so I sent it to Carver Service in the USA to get reborn. All caps were renewed as were some other parts (see invoice) and sound relevent caps in the signal path were changed with higher quality ones which can definately be heard! The amp was also recalibrated to factory specs. The LED lights in the watt meters was changed to light blue. This amp is worth every cent and now sounding better than in original condition. One thing you need to be aware of is this amplifier, due to it´s power supply design, can push out a lot of current into the line when you turn it off. This is normal for these amplifiers but sometimes it can trip one of the breakers in the home fuse box. I discovered this can be avoided if when turning off you push the power button all the way in and then slide your finger to the left and let the power button snap out. I never had the breaker tripping since I did that. See Video! You could also use a remote controlled power switch which also prevents the breaker from popping sometimes. Both solutions work. Although this amp has 380 watts per channel into 8 ohms it only weighs in at ca. 10 Kilogramm!! Because of the specially by Bob Carver developed power supply this amp does not get as hot as other conventionally built power amplifiers. For example by ca. constant 2x 120 Watt per channel this amp hardly even gets warm. Measurements: 48 cm wide, 32 cm deep, 11,5 cm High. Shipping to USA or Canada 100 Euros. Carver TFM-55 Endstufe in neuwertigem Zustand! Klang ist traumhaft! Absolute fantastischer Endstufe mit sehr viel Kraft! Wurde in den USA dieses Jahr geschickt und für ca. 540 US$ mit neuen Teile bestückt (Foto) Traumhafter Klang sehr kraftvoll und zugleich weich und fein auflösend. Der hatte ein Paar Probleme gehabt aber so ein Endstufe ist viel zu schade um ihn einfach zu entsorgen! Also habe ich ihn vom Carver Service in den USA anschauen lassen. Alle Elkos wurden getauscht so wie andere Bauteile (Fotos) und Klang relevante Elkos im Signalweg wurde mit besseren ersetzt und das hört man auch. Die Strom Betriebswerte wurden auch auf Fabrik Neuwerte wieder eingestellt. Die Anzeigelampen sind auch erneut worden in blau. Dieser Endstufe ist jeden Cent wert und klingt wie neu geboren!! Eins muss man bei diesem Verstärker merken. Wenn er ausgeschaltet wird kann er kurzzeitig viel Strom ins Netz abgeben und manchmal kann eine Sicherung im Sicherungskasten ausfallen. Das ist bei diesem Verstärker normal. Das liegt an der Bauweise des Netzteils. Ich habe entdeckt dass wenn man beim ausschalten den Powerknopf ganz eindruckt und dann mit dem Finger nach links wegnimmt sodass der Knopf rausspringt kommt es gar nicht vor. Siehe Video in Englisch. Man kann auch ein fernbedienbarer Stromschalter benutzten um den Verstärker ein und auszuschalten. Da kommt es mit der Sicherung auch nicht vor. Beide Möglichkeiten funktionieren. Obwohl er so viel Kraft hat wiegt er nur ca. 10 Kilogramm!! Durch sein speziell entwickelter Netzteil bleibt er auch ziemlich cool bei großer Leistung! Wenn er zum Beispiel ca. 2x 120 Watt in Dauerbetrieb leistet wird er nicht einmal arg warm. Abmessungen: 48 cm Breit, 32 cm Tief, 11,5 cm Hoch. Probehören vor Ort gar kein Problem.
