The CB designation means it was one of the newer TFM amplifiers and has the option of being bridged for one mono output of double the wattage of the two channels when in stereo configuration. The amplifier plays on both channels as it should. The volume controls work to increase or decrease volume. All of the switches, on-off, speaker, and meter sensitivity, work. The TFM-15CB series was made in the mid to late 1990’s The amplifier does have one issue. The left VU meter appears to be stuck on zero. This has no effect on the operation of the amplifier. A review of articles on the net indicates that mechanical VU meters in vintage equipment often get sluggish, or do not return to zero, or do not deflect when they should. The articles indicate that the culprit is often dust in the meter movement or over tight tension on the meter bearings which can be adjusted. The on-off switch and meter sensitivity switch work as well. I never took it to a technician for evaluation because the amplifier continued to play superbly and I never used the meters for anything anyway. The amplifier was teamed with a Carver CT-7 tuner-preamp which will be on eBay in the near future. I replaced both these items with a CarverC4000t preamp and M-4.0T power amp. The amp will ship with reproductions of the original owners manual and service manual.
