The amplifier (not included) is what powers the speakers.Note that this is a preamp only; it does not have speaker output, only RCAs, and must be paired with a power amplifier. Its not a regular stereo receiver, and doesnt have a radio/tuner built in. This unit uses RCA-style cables and can be used to select the audio input from your CD player, Tuner (radio), Phono (record player), Laserdisk, VCRs etc. (that also use RCA-style audio plugs) to send audio to your amplifier or surround sound system. Item was manufactured in the U.S.A. All rotary controls and switches have been clean with Deoxit Contact Cleaner. Cleaning was performed for maximum performance and sound output.
