In addition, a differential amplifier in the first stage of the main amplifier ensures stable operation. The protection circuit is a circuit that instantly activates a relay to shut down the circuit when the DC voltage at the output terminals exceeds ±2V, preventing problems that could damage speakers or power transistors. This protection circuit also serves as a power muting circuit to prevent shock noise when the power switch is turned on or off. The equalizer amplifier section consists of a 4-stage direct-coupled circuit of the NFR method as in the CA-800II, and uses low-impedance transistors. In addition, an emitter follower system is used in the output stage to reduce output impedance, and the amplifier is driven by a +50V constant voltage to achieve high stability, low distortion, and high signal-to-noise ratio. The equalizer element combines a vapor-deposited metal film resistor (±1% error) and a styrene capacitor (±1% and ±2% error) to achieve excellent characteristics.
