This is an early cd player, made in November, 1985. This is a very nice piece made in Japan. It has that old school digital numbers for the display. This is not an easy piece to come by. This piece is not as wide as the average component. It measures about 13-1/2 across, where standard sized components are around 17 across. This is a great piece of audio history, that sounds great and has a nice solid japanese build. I have not tested the Repeat features, but it is playing cds well and sounds very good. Skip and FF and Reverse are working as they should. Im not sure if this early model came with a remote or not, but there is no remote with this. There is some shite paint or something on some parts of the cord. If you care, you can probably clean it off somehow, but Im going to leave that to you. If you remember, early cd players came with this lock underneath that would prevent the lens shuttle from moving too much during transport. I show a picture of this in the closeup of a hole in the bottom. If you shine a flashlight in there it is easy to see what to do. I have set it to lock for shipping to you. You will see that there is a tab that will move to the right to unlock, which is what you will need to do when you set this up. It takes a phillips screwdriver. even though it takes a screwdriver, it isnt something you turn and turn. It just is like a switch or lever that you turn this way or that. This is just a replacement cartridge for the BSR CD player! (Not an entire player!) It is in very good condition- it came out of my my personal MCD 8000 which died from motor failure. All six of the disk trays are present and in very good condition - no cracks, chips, scratches, etc. Back when I had a working BSR changer, I wished I had a second cartridge so I could have another set of disks ready to go - this is your chance to do that!
