I am selling it because I bought a few amplifiers trying to see what I like best. I am going to have someone custom build me a pure Class A amplifier. That amp will be 30W per channel but use 200W at idle. I will use it over winter where it will double as a space heater. Class AB like this Bryston are the way to go for most setups. I am selling this to finance my Class A amplifier. This amp sounds awesome, better than any live music venue uses. Im pretty sure anyway, Ive gone to a few. Although the amp in theory still has 8+ years on Brystons famous 20 year warranty, it is moot because I dont have the original receipt. I am not sure from what authorized seller it was purchased from but it is working great! Note that I will be getting a box from Bryston so I will not be able to ship this until until after I get the box, maybe 1 week from now.I will only ship to US and Canadia.

I have for sale a Bryston B135 SST2 integrated amplifier. It functions and sounds wonderful, but as you can see, it has a number of cosmetic issues. There are scratches on the front face, some of the white labeling has rubbed off, and there is a bend in the top panel immediately above and below the left heat sink. I have labored to document the cosmetic issues full in the photos above. No power cable or remote control is included, but the original manual is. Testing Process: We start with a visual inspection of all internal components to make sure that there are no signs of heat stress or damage. Capacitors are checked for telltale signs of predictive failure including bulging, shrunken wrappers, or physical leakage. We also inspect the PCBs for discoloration from resistors or transistors that may have been running hot. On vintage units we often spot check select capacitors for value and ESR. If the amplifier passes visual inspection, we move on to a controlled power on sequence using a Sencore safety analyzer to monitor current draw in real time. Once the amplifier is determined to be safe to operate, we connect it to full AC mains for function and power testing. We connect the speaker outputs of the amplifier to a Sencore PA81 Power Analyzer which acts as a dummy load, DC offset monitor, and oscilloscope interface. We start with a low level 1KHz test signal at the amplifier’s input and slowly increase its amplitude while monitoring the output on an oscilloscope for signs of noise, clipping, distortion, or improper channel balance. We continue increasing the signal level until the amplifier reaches clipping. At this point we take an output power measurement and compare it to the spec sheet of the amplifier to verify proper performance. If the device under test has both balanced and single ended inputs they are both tested at this time. We finish off the bench evaluation with a 1KHz square wave check and a 20Hz to 20KHz sine sweep to assess the amplifier’s frequency response characteristics. This battery of tests will usually reveal if the amplifier has any issues that need further attention. Before the device leaves the bench, we perform a listening test with actual music using a variety of preferred test tracks. Our benches are outfitted with familiar monitor speakers which help us identify inconsistencies that will not always show up on our test gear. The main things that we are listening for are hum or noise with no signal present, proper center image, clicks, pops, or any other obvious undesirable audio characteristics. If the unit passes all of these tests it is moved to our long term testing rig where we simulate real word operating conditions for 6-8 hours. Sonics 600X (Bryston 5B-ST) Hi-Fi Amplifier GOOD CONDITIONINCREDIBLE SOUND FROM BRYSTON COMPONENTSREMOVED FROM LOCAL MUSEUM DURING RENOVATION Sonics 600X (Bryston 5B-ST) [ Listing is for 1 amp - however we have 10 units total available ] Overview: Sonics was the American company that supplied the audio systems for the IMAX & OMNIMAX Theaters. Their amplifiers were built by the renowned Bryston in Ontario Canada and Sonics added their front & rear panels along with input circuitry. Over the years these amps have found their way into the consumer/used market and audiophiles jump at the opportunity to own one of these legendary amplifiers. While the 600X is THX certified, it is generally accepted that IMAX audio quality exceeds THX, Dolby and DTS standards in all areas. The Sonics 600X is effectively a rebadged Bryston 5B (see links below) and is a three channel power amplifier rated at 120 watts/channel RMS @ 8 Ohms and 200 watts/channel RMS @ 4 ohm. The two main channels can be bridged for 400w mono output @ 8 ohm. As a triple-mono amp, all three channels are in one chassis, and each channel has their own toroidal power transformer and power supply capacitors. The Plitron tranformers were custom-made for Bryston (82 VCT @ 2.75A, or 225 watts). The power caps for each channel consist of two 10,000µ, 63V capacitors. The rail is ± 55 V and each channel has 30.5 Joules of power supply energy storage. The back panel has a detachable grounded (three-prong) power receptacle, (1) XLR female input, XLR male looping output for LF/subwoofer, and (4) post/banana jacks for +/- on each of the two main channels.
