These speakers were in an opened box from the estate. The speakers were in plastic and when we pulled them out, the original foam had disintegrated in a mess that had to be carefully cleaned off. In addition there seemed be some of it that stuck to the metal parts and the little tweeter heads. The woofers cleaned up fine except for the metal rims of the speakers which I didn’t spend a lot of time on. There may be some light corrosion. I figured I would just sell them as is and let the price fall where it may rather than refurbish myself. Idk they may be just fine or easily cleaned by someone who knows what they are doing. The cases seemed to be just fine so I don’t think moisture has been the issue just the deterioration of the foam over time.
