(Apparently, there is a prevalent chemistry in the industry that makes plastic products with a shelf life. It happens with non-speaker related plastics too.)I used rubbing alcohol to remove it. I think I removed over 90% of it. It should not affect performance. There is only few tackiness in places, which buyer can finish removing if desired.* Sold as a pair.
