It could be regarded as the bigger brother of the fabled S45-2 and replaced the very similar S60 in the speaker range. The cross over was changed along with a redesign of the cabinet. The result was a speaker with more bass emphasis than the S60 but still with a soaring top end. Criticism could be levelled that the bass was at times slightly overblown, but for rock music, it hit the spot. The extra size also emphasised the cabinet makers skill with the rosewood model in particular often showing a wonderful selection of flame veneer. Although these speakers lack the accuracy of the S45-2, many will find the extra bass an attraction and will choose these in front of their fabled brother. Was suitable for placement in a shelving system but also available with aluminium pedestal for those who prefer a free-standing model. Der Beovox Uni-Phase M75 und sein größerer Bruder, der M100, ersetzten den früheren Beovox M70 und gehörten zu ihrer Zeit zur absoluten Spitzenklasse. Mit einer Klangwiedergabe in Studiomonitor-Qualität wurden sie sowohl von Musikliebhabern als auch von Tontechnikern gekauft. Eine spezielle elektronische Schaltung schützte die Lautsprecher vor Überlastung durch zu viel Leistung. Dieser spezielle Überlastungsschutz wurde in die meisten Beovox Uni-Phase-Lautsprecher der neuen Serie eingebaut, die sich selbst abschalteten, wenn die voreingestellte Leistungsschwelle erreicht war. Eine rote LED-Kontrollleuchte an der Unterseite des Frontgitters leuchtete auf, wenn die Überlastungsfunktion ausgelöst worden war. Ein spezieller Reset-Knopf brachte die Lautsprecher wieder in den Vollbetrieb. Die Beovox S45-2 Lautsprecherboxen von Bang & Olufsen sind ein High-End-Produkt mit einer RMS-Leistung von 45/75 W und einer Impedanz von 4-8 Ohm. Die rechteckigen Boxen sind aus Holz gefertigt und haben eine Größe von 48 x 26 x 20,5 cm (HxBxT) sowie ein Gewicht von 7 kg. Die Boxen sind mit einem 200 mm Tieftöner, einem 90 mm Tief-Mitteltöner und einem 25 mm Mittel-Hochtöner und einem DIN-Audioeingang ausgestattet und werden inklusive Ständer geliefert. Nach Angaben von HIFI-WIKI wurden solche Boxen zwischen 1977 und 1980 hergestellt, der Neupreis (für eine Box?) betrug damals etwa 498 DM!. Mein Schwiegervater hat sie zusammen mit einem Beocenter 9300 vermutlich Mitte der 1990er Jahre gekauft.
