Unfortunately, the tape mechanism in this unit does NOT work. all other functions run great with no issues. The condition of this unit is great, please take a look at all pictures. No scratches or chips on the glass. Only one cosmetic flaw on the front alum panel as noted in the image. Beo4 remote is in a good condition with some cosmetic flaws on the rear of the housing, it is cleaned well, new batteries are installed. The now iconic David Lewis designed Bang & Olufsen Beosound 9000 on its optional floor stand (the wall mount is also included) was recently restored by Benny Amina and is paired with the amazing Beolab 6000 speakers, (4) Beolab 4000 wall or shelf mount powered speakers (not shown) along with (3) Master Control Links, (2) Beolink remotes and misc. cables and accessories! This wonderful system resides in our ShowHome next to the Wurlitzer Princess and remains one of the most interesting systems in the entire space. I was employed by a Bang & Olufsen dealer in 1979 when I came to Tallahassee and I continued to recommend and install B&O products into the 90s when they pivoted to a more direct sales approach with their exclusive B&O stores around the country.The best training I ever received was with B&O in 1981 with Harry Horning and Peter Sabin~ I even credit B&O for starting the custom installation industry with their remarkable Master Control Link (MCL) technology in 1982. I installed this amazing multi-room system in my very first new construction prewire in 1983 (thank you Bob Porter) and again the following year for myself in what would become the current ShowHome. Anyone who has lived with B&O design and sound quality knows that no one does what they do... no one. Its now been over 20 years since David Lewis designed the Beosound 9000 and just recently, Bang & Olufsen has located a handful of original 9000s and completely restored them to new condition; paired with the Beolab 6000 or 8000 Loudspeakers and offering them for the first time in 20 years to the public. Bang & Olufsen BeoSound 4 CD Player w/ 2 Beolab 4000 WORKING - READ DESCRIPTION PSA: If you dont see a video in the listing try loading the listing in an incognito or private window or on your phone, ebay seems to struggle to show videos when logged in and on certain devices. Tested Working: The CD player and speakers both power on and work great for the most part. The sliding door mechanism works, and CDs spin up and play when inserted. The buttons on the unit work, and the menu loads up fine with the screen also working without issue. The speakers play audio and sound great. So why for parts? I couldnt get volume control to work on this unit. According to the manual the left jog wheel is supposed to control volume up and down with pressing it in muting the audio, none of these functions work. Im not sure if this is just some sort of configuration issue because when spinning the dial with the unit powered on it makes clicking noises as if its registering increments of turning, but no volume actually changes. I didnt see any configuration options related to this in the settings, but maybe there is just some way to turn the volume nob off that I dont know about. Physical Condition: The physical condition of all 3 units is pretty good, but not amazing. The CD player is overall mostly scratch free, however the rubber on the unit has become subject to rubber reversion and is sticky and places, this is a solvable issue with solvents and lots of cleaning, but isnt something I personally want to deal with doing right now. Meanwhile the 2 biolab units are subject to a couple small dents as well as what appears to be the chrome plating chipping off on the tops/bottoms of the units. Also the previous owner poorly spliced their own remote control transmitter to the cables on the back of the CD player. (see photos for examples of everything listed here) Includes all cables required to power and connect the units together.
