BEARD PHONO AND LINE PREAMPLIFIER Highly regarded British Made sophisticated pre-amplifier with a raft of features: Both active and passive line pre-amplification. · MM and MC phono pre-amplifier using high quality step-up transformers. · Switchable gain. · Tape monitor record circuit · Circuit stabilisation delay. · Fully regulated and stabilised power supply · Uses 10 ECC81 & ECC82 valves · Balance control · All valves test good, giving more than the rated output of 60V. · 3 ALPS blue potentiometers Complete with manual and circuit diagram · From the late 1980s in good cosmetic and working order. Would make a very good low cost pre-amp including MM & MC phono stage for Leak, QUAD and other solid state power amplfiers. Checked and tested for: Phono stage qualityRIAA frequency response. Inputs working Channel balance Frequency response Switches and inputs working properly Valves tested for emission on an AVO valve tester, and all found to good Audio performance on an extended listening test showed no problems and sounded superb.This does not imply any guarantee. The balance pot is a little noisey, some top screws are missing, there is no nut on the ground terminal. There are a few marks here and there (see photos).
