Description
This is a combination package of the Bryston BHA-1 Headphone Amplifier & Bryston BDA-1 DAC Combo Package - They are very rare and these are very powerful amplifier and a high quality DAC. Bryson is one of the oldest amplifier manufacturers still in business today and they make some of the highest quality Equipment made. The company is so confident in their equipment that they currently offer 20 year warranties on their products. They also service any of their equipment. No matter the age or the condition they will service their equipment and they have restoration services available as well to replace parts in your components. They are a truly one of the kind high quality High Fidelity company that will never leave you high and dry like some companies. This has been in my personal collection for a while and has been boxed up and not used. I want to pass it on to a good home where its going to get used. It is in mint condition and there is nothing wrong with any of the equipment whatsoever. If I didnt have four other amps I would pull this out and use this one as well. If I think about it too much chances are I might not even sell it its how nice of a system it is. If you were to buy this amplifier today it would cost over $2,500 plus tax and to buy a matching DAC would cost thousands more plus tax. This is pure vintage Hi-Fi equipment, they dont build them like they used to and theres a reason why this equipment stands the test of time. You are going to be very happy with this system. Advancing our tradition of unmatched audio performance and functionality, the BHA1 is Bryston’s reference amplifier solution for the finest listening experience from your headphones. The BHA 1 is compatible with both traditional (single-ended) and balanced headphones. T he advantage of powering each headphone driver (right and left) with two amplifiers configured in balanced or series mode is a doubling of the signal voltage to each speaker. T his design configuration has been the foundation of Bryston’s legendary 7B, 14B and 28B amplifiers and now headphone users can experience the same dramatic resolution from the BHA-1. The Bryston BHA-1 employs the vast benefits of balanced amplifier designs that are inherently clean and stable especially when there is a demand for higher power and/or a difficult load to drive. Because most headphones are not balanced devices, Bryston provides a traditional (unbalanced) ¼-inch input on the BHA-1 as well as inputs for balanced headphones. Bryston will also provide modifications to some headphone models to make them compatible with a balanced output configuration, along with an adapter cable assuring backwards compatibility to all traditional (unbalanced) headphone outputs. • Balanced Dual mono circuitry • High Quality Noble Stereo Volume control – laser trimmed • Left/Right Balance Control • 6 Fully discrete Class A Bryston operational amplifiers • Balanced outputs – 4 pin stereo and dual left/right 3 pin outputs • Stereo ¼ inch single ended outputs • 14dB or 20dB of selectable gain available • All input and output connectors are Gold plated • 10k input impedance • Multiple headphone drive capability poWer opTionS: • Standard: high quality Bryston internal analog power supply • Optional: MPS-2 power supply also available (replaces internal supply). Back before SACD, DVD-A and multichannel audio, DACs were the source component du jour for redbook CD. With the adoption of the new high-resolution formats, DACs fell out of favor, replaced by integrated universal disc players. Today, many people have gone to entirely computer based audio setups. The highest resolution digital audio available today does not come on a disc, but is available via download. This means DACs are back, and the Bryston BDA-1 is regarded as one of the best of the new breed of 24 bit 192 kHz DACs. Along with the Bryston BDA-1, we review the Halide Design USB to SPDIF Bridge.
