Sensitivity: 87dB Bass: 1 x 160mm carbon fibre cone Tweeter: 1 x 26mm metal dome Enclosure: bass reflex Dimensions: 469 x 213 x 210mm Weight: 10kg These immaculate vintage speakers were designed and made by B&W as a special edition to match an amplifier made by Aura in the 1980s and are closest in design and spec to B&W DM110i – the tweeters are identical, the design is pretty similar and the bass drivers are virtually the same in size, power and spec. These are essentially therefore rebadged B&W DM110i, the sound profile and sound itself is identical, these are B&Ws through and through. Physically beefy and solidly made, these sound like B&Ws when mounted correctly (stand mounts) and are sound – the units are in perfect sonic condition. Cosmetically in near mint condition cabinets and fronts, gold -plated crossovers (bi-wirable with original jumpers in place) all good, the Aura badge is missing from one grille and there’s also two tiny holes in the mesh of the same grille. However, if you’re liking the look of these speakers sporting a distinctly black, black and more black 80’s aesthetic then you’ll not bother listening to these with the grilles on. Originally sold at £400 in 1986, these are priced well to go quickly. Pick up preferred from Newport in South Wales due to size and weight, but will post – factor in the extra cost for this and allow me some time to locate a big/sturdy enough carton and protective packaging.

The listing is for a set of matching grilles that have been removed from a B&W DM110i. Please review the photos for inspection. There are a few holes in the corners, some glue residue on the back, and a small crack that is not structurally significant and can only be detected upon close examination. The covers are worn but have always been on. Unfortunately one snapped as I was moving them today, but I have glued together and I am hoping it will not be noticeable.
