This is a set of Bowers and Wilkins DM10. They are in very good condition despite a few marks and chips on the cabinets. The woofers and tweeters like new. They sound absolutely true as they come from the age when J Bowers and his team created their name. Please ask if you want to see anything in details. I will try to make more close-up photos upon request. Please see the last two photos (manual screenshots) for dimensions and detailed specifications. The speakers come from pet/smoke free house and they have sequential serial numbers. They come without front grilles but please do let me know if you need them. I might be able to get them at a little extra charge. I will pack them very carefully and post by Express Delivery Service. Also I might be able to arrange delivery in person within 200 miles from London to various locations (on certain dates only) if for some reason you don’t want them to be handled by a courier network. Ottima coppia di diffusori (da libreria o stand) prodotti nei primi anni 80 dallo storico costruttore della terra di Albione, perfettamente funzionanti ed in ottime condizioni estetiche, essendo stati amati e curati per anni da un appassionato proprietario. Furono tra i primi diffusori usati da Bowers & Wilkins per far conoscere ed apprezzare il loro genio acustico e le loro qualità sonore ad un pubblico molto più vasto. Le tecniche informatiche avanzate di cui già disponeva B&W a quei tempi, quelle responsabili (ancora oggi) delle prestazioni eccezionali dei loro altoparlanti della fascia più alta, furono utilizzate per sviluppare il woofer delle DM10. Un componente quindi progettato specificamente, utilizzando una fibra impregnata di cui B&W stessa era proprietaria. Il tweeter è lo stesso che veniva utilizzato in altre casse acustiche ma di prezzo piu elevato. Il crossover, a differenza di quelli della maggior parte dei diffusori di prezzo comparabile di quellepoca, è un filtro Butterworth di terzo ordine a garanzia di un suono che risulti ben bilanciato. Ok il messaggio è chiaro ma... come suonano? Per la mia sessione di ascolto (giradischi Technics/Glanz, lettore CD Marantz, amplificatore Denon PM-280) ho usato, come comparazione, altre casse acustiche vintage come RCF, Scott e AR oltre a delle ben piu recenti B&W 705. Risultato? Il suono ha un carattere leggermente caldo e riempie bene la scena sonora. Le basse risultano sorprendentemente nette e pulite, pur restando nei limiti della risposta in frequenza verso il basso che può garantire un diffusore di queste dimensioni. Le alte non sono mai invadenti ma giustamente delicate e lincrocio con le medie risulta davvero ben riuscito. Queste B&W sono unottima soluzione per un impianto audio hi-fi stereo entry level di buon livello (soprattutto con vinile) o per un secondo impianto che risulti apprezzabile. È senza ombra di dubbio, uno dei migliori diffusori vintage che io abbia mai ascoltato in questa fascia di prezzo, sia per la loro capacità di essere coinvolgenti che per il loro essere piacevoli musicalmente.
