Through the use of aluminum plugs, the frequency response, which is already very linear for simple plastic plugs, is jointly linearized and heat dissipation is maintained. Sound is further separated from the speakers, and further enhanced naturalness makes it even clearer and more accurate. Phase plugs prevent opposing diaphragms from cutting just as reliably. At the same time, when using aluminum plugs, better heat dissipation in the area of ??the pole core increases the load capacity and counteracts thermal changes in sound. The dynamic midrange driver works with particularly low distortion when a copper layer covers the inner pole of the magnet, while the aluminum phase plug provides dispersion of the higher frequencies. So only the right combination of materials does it. The technical explanation is trite: the combination of the two materials linearizes the inductance of the voice coil. This results in a dramatic reduction in distortion.

Lautsprecher high end B&W Matrix 801 Serie 3 Standlautsprecher Stereo 30cm Bässe. Die Lautsprecher wurden 1996 aus der Ausstellung gekauft und ja, die Lackierung ist original. Obwohl ich nie einen B&W Mitarbeiter getroffen habe, der wußte, daß jemals eine 801 in dieser Farbe rausging. Die Sicken der Lautsprecher sind trotz des Alters in einwandfreiem Zustand und eigentlich wären beide Lautsprecher tadellos, ginge nicht bei einem davon der Hochton nicht. Ich formuliere das mal so vorsichtig und sage nicht der Höchtöner ist kaputt, denn ich weiß nicht, warum der Hochton nicht geht. Es könnte auch an der Frequenzweiche liegen, oder sich eine Lötstelle gelöst haben. Der defekte Hochton ist vollkommen still, macht also auch keine Störgeräusche. Die meisten Laien bemerken das gar nicht. Das leichte fehlen von Hochtonenergie (der Hochtöner gibt ja nur Oberwellen wieder) fällt eigentlich niemandem auf, allerdings ist die Stereowiedergabe klar zum intakten Lautsprecher hin verschoben. Ich biete die Lautsprecher so an, da ich nicht in eine Reparatur investieren möchte. Vielleicht stört es den ein oder anderen nicht, oder jemand sucht schon lange eine einzelne Matrix 801S3 für ein wahnsinns Surroundsysthem aus 5x801, oder jemand sagt, das repariere ich selbst. Sollte jemand an den Lautsprechern interesse haben, unter der Bedingung das beide einwandfrei funktionieren, so kann er/sie/x sich mit mir in Verbindung setzen und mir sagen was er/sie/x dafür bezahlen würden, dann kann ich mich um eine Reparatur bemühen. Das geht aber glaube ich nur, solange die Gebote noch nicht begonnen haben.Ich fasse zusammen: Matrix 801 Serie 3. Farbe wie auf den Fotos. Ein Lautsprecher funktioniert einwandfrei, bei dem anderen ist der Hochtöner still. Optischer Zustand, wie man es nach 26 Jahren staubwischen und Fingerabdrücke entfernen erwarten kann, nicht neu aber gut. Bi-wire Kabel, oder Standfüsse sind nicht inbegriffen, könnten aber zusätzlich erworben werden. Für alle Matrix 801 Besitzer: Standfüsse sind zu empfehlen. Die Lautsprecher wurden für eine Aufstellung 30cm über dem Boden konzipiert, andernfalls ist die musikalische Abbildung zu niedrig und der Bass zu mächtig.Keine Verpackung. Aufgrund von Größe und Gewicht, nur für Selbstabholer. Ich kann beim Verladen bei der Abholung behilflich sein.Trotz meiner e-mail Adresse ist der Kauf von privat. Erstens bin ich kein Händler mehr, zweitens sind die Lautsprecher von mir privat angeschafft worden. Keine Garantie, keine Rücknahme, Kauf wie gesehen bzw. beschrieben.
