Hier zeigte sich wieder einmal, dass es auf einer exzellenten Grundlage möglich ist, per Detailschliff zu noch besseren Ergebnissen zu kommen. In diesem Fall kam als Ansporn wohl noch hinzu, dass die Lücke zwischen 600er- und 800er-Baureihe verkleinert werden sollte. Dies ist gelungen, wenn auch die Preise unvermeidlich von rund 700 auf 800 Euro je Komponente erneut etwas zulegten. Tatsächlich herrscht gegenüber den Vorgängern noch mehr Ruhe im Klangbild, die Geräte klingen beide noch etwas reifer, was sich auch in einer gewissen Sanftmut und geschmeidigen Lässigkeit und Souveränität äußert. Zudem konnten wir den Nachfolgern im direkten Shootout ein wenig mehr Flair in den Klangfarben sowie einen durchaus satteren Punch etwa bei Rock oder Big Band-Musik (Goldfinger) zusprechen, ohne dass es je unübersichtlich opulent wurde. Minimal warm zeichnende Lautsprecher wie etwa von DALI oder Dynaudio sind übrigens Wunschpartner der Cambridge-Kette, die damit zur Topform aufläuft und ganz fantastisch klingt...
