Selling my Ayre K1xe preamplifier with phono stage and remote. This is an outstanding preamplifier which I used in my demo room to showcase my Grand Aspen Speakers. The phono stage comes with a pack of resistors so you can adjust the gain to match your cartridge. I currently have the phono stage set for my Dynavector XV I moving coil cartridge. I would have rated this an 8 out of 10 but there are some scuff marks on the external power supply which you can see in the photos so that is why the rating is a 7. The amplifier will be safely packed in a foam lined audio box and the external power supply will be packed with the remote and power cord in a separate box. Up for sale is this amazing Ayre Acoustics KX- 5 Twenty. I owned several remarkable preamps over the years like the Rogue RH-5, Rogue RP-7, Rogue RP-9, Parasound JC2BP and they sounded great in their applications. However, this is hands-down, the finest control amp I have ever used. I am going to streamline my system with an integrated so it is time to move this along. I am the 2nd owner and if there are any marks or scratches I didn’t find them. The pictures represent the condition of this preamp well. I can’t tell you the age of the preamp but I am sure Ayre can help with that. There are numerous on-line reviews extolling the incredible sound of this unit and it mates perfectly with the VX-5 Twenty power amplifier I also have listed here.
