The unit works but has an issue with the digital side. I got this Arcam AVR10 off a client who was having what they described as HDMI Video issues. The sales rep thought it was an hdmi length issue. It will occasionally just stop recognizing digital audio sources. Sometimes it works after a reboot, other times I have to power it down for a few hours, boot it back up and the issue is gone for weeks or months at a time. Other times it comes back within a few minutes. This seems to be a known issue and can be repaired. It has the 2.0b HDMI ports, from what I’ve read it’s possible to get it updated to HDMI 2.1, so this might be a good fit for someone wants to get that 2.1 upgrade as you could have the fix done at the same time. So far the video has been excellent, it has never not worked for me. The issue is really with the DAC and/or DSP, as if you plug in an analog input it will work with Stereo Direct but any kind of DSP setting causes it to output no audio. I’ve fully updated the firmware and I’ve been able to run the DIRAC calibration, it sounds excellent when it works. There’s no license fee on this model either. Of note: I found the 12v trigger out to introduce noise into my 2 channel amp but the pre-outs don’t.

Arcam avr10 Flashed With Audiocontrol XR-4 w/ Dirac Bass control. Note: NO REMOTE. It comes with power cord and antennas. This is an amazing sounding unit. You will get the almost the same sound as the top model avr30 when using it as a preamp. The best part is able to run Dirac with bass control. All you need is a Umik-1 mic. The Audiocontrol installed software makes this unit sound a slight more dynamic and immersive in my opinion. I upgraded to an Arcam av41. Remote is not included but they have an app Remote for the iPhone that works great and that also have a web setup menu. All you need is a laptop or an iPad and just input the ip address from the unit and you can set up the whole unit within the web UI. There a few small scratches and there’s a small dent in the rear corner that you won’t see once inserted into a cabinet. Please refer to the images.
