Im in the process of selling all my stereo gear as Ive been using headphones much more lately for practicality reasons. I purchased this new in 2017 with the upgraded linear power supply and it has been a great streaming device. I mostly used it for streaming with Tidal and it sounds really nice. The unit got a small dent in the back right corner during a move, but I have been using the it for years since then with no issues, so it is just a cosmetic defect and the unit is 100% functional. Comes with power supply and cords as well as the remote.

While the streaming engine in both is likely to be the same the absence of a DAC in the Aries means that the electrical environment within it is quieter and, this is the crux, there are multiple digital outputs on the Aries which means that its performance can be enhanced with DAC upgrades. The Altair is a fixed solution for those that want a complete streamer package and do not plan to upgrade in the future. This is the Auralic Aries G1 Not the Altair version

Purchased new, sole owner, used for streaming roon to my main system. Used mainly as a Roon endpoint, with occasional streaming from my phone. Cosmetically in great shape with a few blemishes, such as the scratch on the front panel as pictured and some light scuffs on its top plate. No dents/ dings/ chunks taken out of it. The front digital panel has light burn-in which is evident at startup, but isn’t noticed when in use (last pic of the digital panel in the play function).
